US Equities

Chainlink Data Streams offers two families for US single-name equities and ETFs: 24/5 streams and 24/7 streams. Both cover US equities, but they differ in how sessions are handled, which fields you consume, and what happens when the market is closed.

24/5 vs 24/7

The table below compares the two families on the details that apply across both: stream count, session handling, weekends and holidays, and the price fields they publish.

24/5 US Equities24/7 US Equities
Streams per assetThree (Regular, Extended, Overnight)One per product
Session switchingIntegrator chooses the session stream using marketStatusNo session switching; the stream publishes continuously
Weekends and holidaysMarket closed; prices resume at the next openContinues publishing through weekends and holidays
Price fieldsmid, bid, ask per sessionTWAP: single price
Perpetual Markets: mid, bid, ask

For field-level behavior by product, see the 24/7 US Equities User Guide.

Which should I use?

  • 24/5 if you want session-level control and full control over how regular, extended, and overnight prices are combined.
  • 24/7 for Perpetual Markets if you need a continuous fast price (mid, bid, ask) through weekends and holidays.
  • 24/7 TWAP if you need a single continuous TWAP price per asset.

For lending, use 24/7 Smoothed Tokenized Equity Feeds, which publish the slow price onchain.
