Chainlink Data Streams offers two families for US single-name equities and ETFs: [24/5 streams](/data-streams/rwa-streams/24-5-us-equities-user-guide) and [24/7 streams](/data-streams/rwa-streams/24-7-us-equities). Both cover US equities, but they differ in how sessions are handled, which fields you consume, and what happens when the market is closed.

## 24/5 vs 24/7

The table below compares the two families on the details that apply across both: stream count, session handling, weekends and holidays, and the price fields they publish.

| | [24/5 US Equities](/data-streams/rwa-streams/24-5-us-equities-user-guide) | [24/7 US Equities](/data-streams/rwa-streams/24-7-us-equities) |
| :-------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------ | :------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Streams per asset | Three (Regular, Extended, Overnight) | One per product |
| Session switching | Integrator chooses the session stream using `marketStatus` | No session switching; the stream publishes continuously |
| Weekends and holidays | Market closed; prices resume at the next open | Continues publishing through weekends and holidays |
| Price fields | `mid`, `bid`, `ask` per session | TWAP: single `price`Perpetual Markets: `mid`, `bid`, `ask` |

For field-level behavior by product, see the [24/7 US Equities User Guide](/data-streams/rwa-streams/24-7-us-equities).

## Which should I use?

- **[24/5](/data-streams/rwa-streams/24-5-us-equities-user-guide#available-streams)** if you want session-level control and full control over how regular, extended, and overnight prices are combined.
- **[24/7 for Perpetual Markets](/data-streams/rwa-streams/24-7-us-equities#24-7-for-perpetual-markets)** if you need a continuous fast price (`mid`, `bid`, `ask`) through weekends and holidays.
- **[24/7 TWAP](/data-streams/rwa-streams/24-7-us-equities#24-7-twap)** if you need a single continuous TWAP price per asset.

For lending, use [24/7 Smoothed Tokenized Equity Feeds](/data-feeds/tokenized-equity-feeds/24-7), which publish the slow price onchain.

## Guides

Each guide covers the integration details for one family: stream structure, field behavior, and risks.
